Have Your Say - Advisory Statement
Have Your Say (HYS) is popular as a way of expressing YOUR view to the RSGB. Replies are generally sent by the acting General Manager within 24 hours.
HYS exists not simply as a “safety valve” for concerns, but also as a way of soliciting constructive suggests for improvement in the Society’s service quality.
Sadly a small number of those writing have chosen to be personally abusive. The Board reviews every HYS exchange and has decided that clearer guidance is needed on the appropriate style for HYS.
With immediate effect, therefore, we will be applying the following criteria to all HYS messages received:
- Any which are abusive, disruptive, offensive, contain defamatory statements or risk breaching UK law will be returned with a note to that effect and will not be answered
- Any simply expressing a view will generally receive a full reply, particularly where there are errors of fact, or issues to be teased-out
- Those which offer constructive suggestions will be particularly welcome, and generally will result in an exchange to develop the thinking
HYS allows Members to contribute to the reshaping of the Society, and we encourage everyone with a view to express to make use of it in a proper way.
