Foundation Tutors will be aware the IARU/UK Band Plan has been re-issued as the 2010 version. Although there are minor differences between the Simplified Plan given in the Foundation Specification and the 2010 IARU/UK version, there is no current proposal to change the simplified plan used only for examination purposes. Tutors should tell students it is a simplified plan and examination questions will be to that plan which will be available in the examination. They should always look up the answer to a band plan question and not rely on memory. Advanced Tutors will be aware the IARU/UK Band Plan has just been re-issued as the 2010 version. This does now differ from the version in the 2009 reprint of the course book and the copy provided in the examination. There is no current proposal to update the version of the plan used in the examination and candidates should look up answers and not rely on memory. The booklet should not be removed from the exam room and will, in any case, no longer reflect the latest IARU position. Good notice will be given of any proposal to adopt the 2010 (or subsequent) IARU plan for examination purposes. Go back...  |
