Following on from the recent success of their Tan Hill activation GB1TAN, and in conjunction with the National Trust, a team from Wakefield and District Radio Society will be activating Holy Island off the Northumbrian coast for the 3rd year running from Friday 10 July until Monday 13 July using the callsign GB1HI.  Keep an ear open for Madagascar as 5R8KD will be on the air until 17 July. His operation will be on 160 to 6m using CW and RTTY. Logs will be uploaded to LoTW and eQSL and an on-line log search will be available. Paper QSLs should go via his home callsign W5KDJ.
Members Portuguese Navy Amateur Radio will activate several CT Lighthouses. On 11 July CR1NRA will be on the air using SSB and CW on 10, 15, 20, 40 and 80m. Then on 8 July, CR6NRA will be active on SSB, CW and digital modes on 10, 15, 20, 40 and 80m. www.qrz.com/cr1nra.
The French military amateur radio operators who will be active from Ile de la Grande in the Glorioso group, AF-011, on 9 to 28 July are F4EGS, F5IRO, F5PRU, F5RQQ and F5TLN. Their trip to Glorioso is primarily a military operation, not a DXpedition, but they will have four complete stations. They plan to be QRV during both the IARU HF World Championship and the IOTA Contest. QSL via F5OGL, direct or bureau. Members of the Strumblehead DX and Contest Group have now sealed the final permission to activate Ramsey Island, off the West Wales coast, from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds who own the island. They will be active from 1800, 24 July until 1400, 27 July. Activity will include an entry in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 25-26th). They will be active using the club callsign MC0SHL for the whole duration of the operation and using MW9W in the contest. Their activity will be on all bands from 80-10 meters using SSB. There is also be some 30m RTTY planned by G1VDP if the other guys allow him, with participation in the last 80m Club Championships DATA section.
