Science Week 2008

Report on events held for Science Week 2008

More to follow soon!

Ham radio clubs up and down the country enthralled school pupils with demonstrations of amateur radio during National Science Week 2008.

Children and their teachers were shown how amateur radio ties in with the National Curriculum, can provide the knowledge needed for a career in high tech industries such as electronics and also brings together people of different nationalities from throughout the world.

The Radio Society of Great Britain and its many affiliated local clubs have a long tradition of participating in Science Week, and this year put on a particularly exciting show.

Thanks to this big effort, thousands of youngsters were exposed to the amazing world of amateur radio for the first time and many youngsters have decided to pursue further an interest in amateur radio.

Well done to all those involved!
