Senior and Standard
These awards are intended to mark successful vhf / uhf achievements.
There are now two ways of qualifying:- currently by verified contacts with the required number of countries and UK Postal Districts, shown immediately below, and an award based on countries and UK counties which will still be available until at least December 2002.

ATTAINMENT TARGETS:
The targets are a mix of both countries and districts.
There will two levels of attainment, a 'Standard' and 'Senior' level, which will have the following requirements:-

| 70MHz | Standard Award 45 districts 3 countries Senior Award 80 districts 6 countries |
| 144 MHz | Standard Award 65 districts 9 countries Senior Award 100 districts 15 countries |
| 432 MHz | Standard Award 40 districts 3 countries Senior Award 70 districts 9 countries |
| 1296 MHz | Standard Award 30 districts 3 countries Senior Award 60 districts 6 countries |
- Listener Awards to be on an 'as heard' basis.
- Belfast and Scottish districts to allow multiple contacts as per contest rules.
Rules:
- Starting date for this award is 1st January 2000.
- All contacts made after 1st January 1990 are eligible.
- Eligible Districts are listed in the 'YearBook' page 86.
- Eligible countries are listed in the 'YearBook' page 110. (With the addition of IT9.)
- For QSL cards not showing a 'district code', the claimant may add the appropriate code providing suitable other location information is on the card.
- Stations are eligible for awards in the following categories:
- Fixed stations.
- Portable stations (/P any location).
- Mobile stations (/M any location).
- Categories cannot be mixed.
- Each different confirmed contact with a station in a Scottish District may count up to a maximum of three per district.
Belfast (BT) may count up to six contacts. - The 'county and country' based awards will continue to be available until at least December 2002, the rules for which were published in the 1999 'YearBook' page 17. These will continue to be valid towards the 'Supreme Award'.
- VHFC reserves the right to modify these criteria as necessary.

SUPREME AWARD:
The qualifications will remain the same ie 3 Seniors or 2 Seniors + 1296 Standard. The old award and the new will be equal in credit towards a 'supreme'.

Rules:
- All contacts must have been made after 1st January 1961, in respect of old UK counties, or after 1st January 1975, in respect of new counties.
Scottish revision with effect from 1st January 1976.
Starting date for 50MHz contacts is 1st June 1987.
